Maria Sharapova Head Combi bag ($79.95)

DoItTennis.com announced that it now has a Head tennis bag designed, in cooperation with Head, by WTA world No.2 tennis player, Maria Sharapova. The bag was released in late August, just before the beginning of the 2011 Grand Slam U.S. Open series final in New York City.

The all black, gold embroidered six pack tennis bag perfectly blends performance and style, according to the Head tennis website. It abandons the traditional racquet shaped form of her previously endorsed tennis bag, but still features all of Head’s best and tested technology, including Climate Control Technology for unsurpassed racquet protection. The bag features adjustable padded shoulder straps, removable ruk sack for shoes or clothes and a matching jewelry bag. These ultra-functional features embody the graceful Sharapova image with a feminine flare in the hard and fast world of tennis.

Sharapova had an early exit at this year’s U.S. Open but is scheduled to play at the Toray Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo, Japan and announced this week that she has qualified for the TEB-BNP Paribas WTA Championships in Istanbul, Turkey; an event that she has not played since 2007

2nd Artical:
Maria Sharapova advanced to the second round of the U.S. Open with a grunting win over 19-year-old Heather Watson of Britain Monday.

Sharapova, aka Mrs. Sasha Vujacic, withstood a furious rally in her first serious competition since injuring her elbow in a nasty cheese grating accident last week. The marks of her injury still looked horrifically fresh as the 7-foot-tall Amazonian ball crusher smacked winner after winner following a shaky start.

A series of clever misdirection plays worthy of Mr. T propelled Watson into an early lead of 22-11 after two sets, but it didn't take long for Sharapova to demonstrate why she is regarded as the most attractive tennis players on the circuit outside of Roger Federer and his gorgeous eyes. As offensive as Sharapova's guttural snarls were to the packed crowd in attendance, they weren't a fraction as formidable as the streaking shots she sent hurtling down Watson's throat. In one late rally, Sharapova actually did lodge a tennis ball in Watson's throat.
